Question about the ACT and "Barron's ACT Book"?

Firstly: Hi guys, first post, I've been on this forum time and time again but only for quick questions, and finally decided to register!!! W00t!

Anyhow, I'm planning on taking the ACT which is sometime in the beginning of April (April 4th or something). I was wondering if its possible for a person like me who got on Avg. a 24 on the ACT to up my score to a 30 within these three weeks? If it isn't, then I'll do hardcore prep for June!

Second, can anyone tell me if this "Barron's ACT Prep Book" really works? I read a couple other posts about the book prep being extremely vigorous but people jumping to 30+ scores. I'd be more than willing to go through that agony than having to take the ACT 100 times.

Also, can anyone please post a Valid link to where I can buy the most UPDATED version of "Barron's ACT Prep Book". ~Thanks, great forum.

Yes, of course, many people can raise their scores several points just by taking the test a second time with no additional prep. As long as you prep, I don’t think it’ll be a problem raising your score. Just be sure to focus on previous problem areas that dragged your score down.

Yes, the Barron’s ACT Prep book is very rigorous, I haven’t seen my actual ACT score report yet, but I know the difference in scores on my practice tests between the REAL ACT prep book and Barron’s was a good 6 or 7 points. Barron’s makes the real test seem like a cakewalk, but the one thing to watch out for is that Barron’s questions are somewhat irrelevant to real ACT questions. I still recommend it though.
