So I know that a big part of doing well on the AP US gov/politics test is knowing major court cases. My question is, do you need to know just basically the outcome of the cases and what they each decided, or should you know the history/background and dates of them as well? Thanks!

My teacher says you should be able to know where in the constitution the court ruling in question comes from. Also know the case itself and its significance on American history afterwards and in American politics.

ok, that's kinda what I thought. Thanks for the info :)
