I am currently working on an application for a school which is due by this friday! They told me to list activities I have done. They had separate blanks for Athletics, clubs/org., etc. but they also had separate blanks for academic activities and art activities.
I’ve never really heard of academic activity, or art activity, so what would some examples be?
Science Olympiad is an academic activity. So is competitive math (i.e. MATHCOUNTS/AMC). Activities in the arts are things like drawing, painting, videomaking, dancing, playing an instrument, etc.

Academic activities are any academically-related activities. One example is the academic Olympiad. This also includes seminars and talks, and academic clubs (i.e. Chemistry Society, Mathematics Circle or what or how your school calls that certain club/organisation)
Art activities are simply what minimalist has said.

Wish I had asked this before my daughter submitted her application! I thought academic activities were class-related.
Academic activities can be class-related, but of course we want the AO to see more than just what we - in your case, your daughter - do inside our classrooms, don’t we?
We took these to be mostly outside of class time activities. Though he did put yearbook and set design, which were during arts block. Academic clubs would be anything with an academic focus - math club, science clubs, model UN. Arts can be anything from music to theater to fine arts to dance.
