i got the app in the mail today and in the middle of it there is an envelope. are we supposed to put all the materials in there when we send it. i would prefer a larger package where i dont have to fold the application. and would penn care if i sent it in something else, cause on the envelope there are places that you have to check. thanks.

It's much much easier to apply online, and I highly recommend you do that rather than via snail mail. I don't know about this year, but last year Georgetown didn't take online applications and I got so fed up with it that I never finished my application.

Word to the wise: Apply Online. It makes life easier. Anything extra you want to give them, send it snail mail, but send it certified with a return receipt. Just to make sure you know they received it.

Also, with paper applications, you have to worry about the kids who do the filing in the admissions office. Keep in mind that when you send things to a school, students who work in the office have to make sure it gets to your folder. In my case, they failed miserably and a few weeks before decisions were supposed to come out, I get a card that half the stuff that they never got half the stuff I sent in via snail mail, even though I sent it certified mail with return receipt and it was confirmed delivered. My transcript, counselor rec, and a teacher rec were somehow lost in the admisisons office, and that card I got was not a nice thing. The Penn app lets teachers submit recs online, it lets you submit your parts online. Do as much as possible online. Seriously.
