Question about the Application

Hey, I just completed and submitted the transfer application online.

First of all, how many people submitted the application online rather than mailing in a paper application.

I personally thought the online application was horrible. You couldn't even save what you were doing and go back into it, and at the end you were not allowed to preview before submitting.

Anyways, for the two essays, it simply asked to copy and paste it into the space provided. However, I think that when I pasted it in, even though I put spaces between the paragraphs and indented the paragraphs, that it will just look like a huge paragraph when the admissions officer reads the essays. The reason for this is because for another college applicaton it also asked to copy and paste into a space and I did that. But, this college allowed me to preview before submitting the application and the essay just appeared as one long paragraph.

Now, I am mailing in my supplmental information tomorrow. Do you think I should include my two essays in the package or is that just silly?

I'm just worried because I don't think it will read as good when the entire essay looks like one paragraph. Now I know if this were to be true, it would be the same for everyone else who applied online but I don't know, I just don't know.

What do you guys think?

I applied for transfer using the online application, as well. And, just like you, I thought it was horrible. But a lot of colleges sometimes prefer receiving the application online, so that's why I did it.

When I copied and pasted my essay, I went back through and made sure each paragraph was separated. Then (because we couldn't use tabs to indent) I used 7 spaces for each new paragraph. I figured that the system wouldn't reformat the spaces.

I think including the essays in the supplemental materials package would be kind of silly. They already have you essays, so they probably won't understand why you're sending them again. I wouldn't worry about it looking like one big paragraph too much. After all, everyone's in the same position.

Haha,

I cannot even apply because the system is down(applyweb.com). What gives on the day of the deadline?
