One of the questions is something like, “List your ECs in the order of importance”

So is it:

1)Not Important
.
.
.
.
Really Important

OR

2)Really Important
.
.
.
.
Not Important

Do you see what I’m asking?

According to the Brown Common Data Set, they are listed as “Important”. (Top of Page 7)

I think Korean_dreamer was asking about order of importance. 1 = most important activity and 7 (or however many you list) = least important.

(But yes, AmbitiousMind07 is right in that ECs are important in the admissions criteria!)

I thought that’s what Koreandreamer was talking about, but I really don’t think anyone has the answer to that question. My opinion would be to list the activities most important to you, Koreandreamer.

So, when the Common App asks you to “List your ECs in the order of importance”, you list them with regard to the latter example you gave…but I wouldn’t mention anything that’s “Not Important” to you last…maybe something that’s important but not as important and the others you’ll list before it…if that makes sense.

Put the most important one first.

Use common sense – an application is not a suspense novel – do you really want admissions to read the least important thing first?
