Question about the average gpa to cal poly slo engineering

<p>hi guys, I am planing on transferring next year to cal poly slo and i will be done with igetc and i will be done with all required pre reqs and 3 out of 4 desired classes. anyways i was looking at their average transfer rate and its around 3.4-3.5 for engineering majors, now everyone says that you need a really high gpa to get in yet their average isnt that high. am i not seeing part of the whole picture picture ? am i not noticing something ? </p>

<p>and please let me know what would do you think about my stats, by the time i apply(somewhere in October i believe) my gpa will be around the 3.5 and by the end of my semester (fall, ends in December) i will have a 3.6+ so please let me know. my intended major in software engineering.</p>

<p>I think that is a pretty high GPA for what classes engineering majors have to take. Engineering is arguably one of the hardest majors to do. You have to take like 6 years of math!</p>
