Question about the Columbia Application....

In the "Interests Section" on part II, there are the two questions "Please tell us what you find most appealing about Columbia and why" and "For applicants to The Fu Foundation School, please tell us what attracts you specifically to the study of engineering".

However, each one is limited to only 8 lines of answer. There is a page for additional information to elaborate on such questions....but it states that they would prefer if we didn't add anything extra. How important are these two questions in admissions and do you think it would actually hurt if I added more?

Those are very important questions. I attached a page for my application. I doubt they've gotten much more anal since then.

Don't take more than a page between the two of them, though

i suggest you dont attach a page to answer those two questions because i am sure whatever you want to say can be said in 8 lines if you really thought about it....the reason they do this is so you dont drone on as i'm sure you would if you added a page.

Thanks Shraf...I'm guessing you didn't attach another page, and you got in, right?

To all those other CC'ers who got into the Fu Foundation, did you attach an extra page to you app?

that's correct
