Hello, I have a question about the essay. I have already written my short responses, but I'm unsure about how long they are actually allowed to be. Ten lines (Stanford specified) seems to depend on what font/size you use, and also... really doesn't seem like a lot at all. My "short responses" are 150, 250, and 360 words.. is the 360 one too long? Word count is driving me insane here!
thanks for your help. =D

Yeah, I think 360 is a bit too long. Ten lines = 12 point, Times New Roman, regularly spaced, 1" margins. See how many words that is. (You can, of course, go a little over, but try to keep it within boundary.)

oh no... but my essay seems pretty effective the way it is. In other words... It doesn't FEEL that long, it's concise, even at 360 words... and I'm unsure of where I should cut. But thank you for your help. =)

if you can submit it, submit it. Dont worry that much about the word count unless the site is literally not letting type anymore. If you feel you have something good, stick with it. Stanford cares more about the content of your answers rather than the lengths. If you want, you could try to move some of your content from your short essays to your longer ones.
