As a matter of fact the fees for a non resident of California are about 55k. However what exactly has to be proven by my bank ? Do they have to prove that I am able to the fees only, excluding personal expenses like housing etc, or do they have to prove that I can pay the 55k the first year ? Speaking of first year, do I have to prove that I can pay this amount for all 4 years or just for the first year ? I could also ask the UC support of course, but I though the support here would be faster =)

Are you an international student? Then yes, you need to demonstrate that you can pay the full Cost of Attendance (tuition, fees, books, materials, housing, transportation, etc.) for at least one year, or you will not get your student visa.

Yeah i am an int. student.
So the universities don’t really care about the annual income, they just want to see that there is enoguh money on a bank account to pay the fees ?

They don’t care at all whether you will pay from income or savings or a scholarship from your government. All that matters is that you have enough money available to pay your COA.

But please remember, you will need that much money each year for four years! Be sure to plan ahead so that you know where the money will come from for years two, three and four.
