Another valid point from Mom, that professors are not all alike. My kid experienced this as well at very high level french courses. But she persevered and got her credits completed, and decided not to major in a language. All is well.

The placement test online is not that hard, but its only purpose is to place you properly, since kids come in with such variant abilities and their transcripts dont always tell the truth, so to speak. Dont stress over it. Its designed to help you so you dont register for a mid to high level course you are not prepared for well. Just roll with it and get it done.

Lots of kids try to game the system and take easy courses and professors with reputations for easy grades. Thankfully not that many professors fall into that category. But its frustrating as kids brag in January about GPA and then you find out they dropped a hard course. There will always be really tough professors, and most of them are the best teachers, but also the best mentors. Transitioning from high school to college is not easy. Just pace yourself, do your work, and dont party and you will be fine.
