Question about the Honors College

When I apply, do I apply to the honors College or will I have to be accepted by Pitt first? I'm not sure how I can tell them that I'm interested in being in the honors college.

How often does Pitt send out letters? I know that they operate on a rolling admissions process so I was wondering if I applied today, when I will be able to receive a letter from them about acceptance/rejection?

Your application for admission acts as your application for the honors college. When you get your letter it will mention whether or not you were accepted to the honors college as well.

You don’t need to do anything special.

What are your stats? I’ve seen a lot of people with SATs from 1300+ and up with comparable GPA/class rank get it.

Even if you don’t get into it as a freshman, you can always take courses in it. It seems pretty lax (pretty low GPA requirement, meet other prereqs).

I’m pretty excited about it though; just found out I got into the honors college yesterday!

Pitt is my safety school but I want to get into the pre-med area so it might be tougher. My stats are:

1560 SATs (math and CR)
4.0 UW GPA, 4.5 W GPA
Class rank: 4/670

You should definitely get into the Honors College, you will likely get assured admissions, and you will likely get a full tuition scholarship if your app follows the trend of last year’s apps.

edit nvm…
