Question about the Post 9/11 GI Bill and transferring colleges...?

ok just btw I’m not a veteran, my dad is and he transferred his Post 9/11 GI Bill benefits to me & my sister, and I’m using it currently to pay for college (sorry if this is like against the rules of this thread to not be a veteran lol whoops but)

So I’m in a private university in SoCal, and I don’t like it. My parents said I can transfer next year but I really wanna transfer after this semester is done. However, I talked to my dad about it and we’re using the Post 9/11 GI Bill to pay, he said that the GI Bill goes by year for tuition so I would have to finish out the year at my current university. Is this true tho? I tried looking stuff up about it but couldn’t find much. I really want to transfer to a community college near my house and do winter/spring/summer 2017 terms there. Would the GI Bill stop me from doing this?

No it’s not true. They pay by the semester. Your attendance need to be verify every semester.

@sensation723 lol thats what i thought haha. i’ll tell that to my dad & see what he says. he probably just said that so i wouldn’t transfer after this semester smh
