For the NASS application, my dd was able to use her PSAT scores. I am assuming that you could submit those numbers on the preliminary app., particularly if you scored well. Of course, you will also need to provide SAT/ACT, and you will need to re-take them until your scores are "good enough," but PSAT MAY be OK to trigger the candidate number assignment.

Comments, anyone? BGOs?????

2012mom? that is correct. That is what I did, my PSAT scores were good enough to trigger a candidate number. Then from there you can submit SAT/ACT scores. I suggest from then on out you take an SAT or ACT as often as possible, generally people improve with every sitting.

Also as soon as you recieve a candidate number and can log into CIS, your BGO's contact along with your Regional Admissions Director's contact info are displayed. I suggest getting in contact with them early and work with them constantly.

DSL,
I recommend that you also consider taking the ACT. We live in a part of the country where the ACT is more common so almost everyone here takes the ACT. My son took the ACT and did pretty well. Then he took the SAT and didn't do as well, so he took the ACT several more times and continued to improve.
Good luck!
