question about the sat

This might sound a bit stupid or ignorant from my part, but if you took the SAT, for example, twice and got the following results:

1st attempt:
M - 760
CR - 780
W - 780

2nd attemps:
M - 800
CR - 740
W - 780

do you send the score of the SAT group you took on one day (for example send the whole 1st attempt, or send the whole 2nd attempt) or can you mix the different sections to have the best result...

example:

M - 800
CR - 780
W - 780

??

This is being implemented in March: [Score Choice - New SAT Score-Reporting Policy](Send SAT Scores to Colleges - SAT Suite | College Board)

The new reporting system means that you can send in whatever attempts you want to colleges. You can’t independently select your best sections, but say you took the test 5 times, you could then only send in the best two attempts. Some colleges will want all scores regardless, so the rule of taking it three times max is still wise.

However, since no tests have been administered in March yet, you send both scores to the colleges. It doesn’t allow you to mix and match or only send one. It will send all the scores of all your attempts to whatever college(s) you want. As of now, both attempts would be sent whether you like it or not. That said, most colleges will take into account your best scores (composite) when looking at your reasoning ability or whatever. As in, they will basically mix and match to your advantage (best scores) when viewing your application.
