On the section where Princeton wants to know about how we've spent the last 2 summers, how are you guys doing that? Are you listing them and putting explanations next to them, or are you describing them all in paragraph form? Or whatever else?

They tell you how long to write based on the character limit in the Common App form. It isn't difficult to divide 2500 by 6 and get an answer.

To answer the whole question, the fact they would give you almost 400 words to talk about it kind of indicates they are expecting an essay, rather than a list. If not, they would have just done what Stanford did on their supplement.

Also, Baelor, are you applying to Princeton?

Mine's really long cause I tried to do like, a story kind of thing but still provide substance.
It's about 700 words now.
I'm gonna cut it in half though. Believe me once you start writing you won't be able to stop. You'll probably end up over.

i did choice 1 (i used it for my harvard and yale supplemental essays too... it was awesome.. i killed 3 birds with 1 stone)

my summers thing is about 320 words (roughly 1900 characters) right now.. i think i'm going to expand it a little and make it closer to 400 words

Baelor, do you really need it? I thought Stanford was your first choice. Thanks anyways, and same to you. As long, obviously, as you don't deny me a spot. ;)

I'm doing essay 4, by the way. I used a quote from George Orwell and related it to the writing process of my book.

I have no top choice; but I am only applying to Harvard and Princeton, so jump on Yale and the other Ivies (+Duke, etc.) if you want to! :D I won't deny you a spot; you'll get into a stretch for sure. I rarely would say something like that, but I honestly believe it.

Thanks, I hope you are right considering my admissions.

And, oh good. Apply to Harvard; I'm not, and probably for the same reasons you eschewed Yale for Harvard. I didn't realize that Stanford wasn't your top choice - I assumed so due to the SCEA application, but I now realize it was the reach for you that had early applications. Consequently, I reaffirm my hope that you get into Harvard, so you can play their FA offers off each other (if necessary), and more importantly, have some measure of decision in your college education.
