Question about the Volunteer experiences.

I have done many volunteer experiences since I entered high school.

So my question is, do I have to have all the certificates for the

volunteer experiences that I have done??? Is it required?

No, you don't need to have proof. You do need, however, to be honest since some colleges will check particularly if your volunteer experience doesn't seem to fit with other aspects of your application.

An example would be if your GC rated you as not being particularly involved in activities, yet you said you had spent 1,000 hours volunteering.

No, but additional recommendations, especially from well known institutions could always help you a lot.

thanks for reply.

so you guys mean that it is more helpful if I get a proof for my volunteer experiences??

Yes, get a proof.
And by proof we don't mean certificate or an entire journal consisting of volunteering experience, but just a nice lil letter of recommendation from the director of volunteer service at whatever place you worked for.

You do NOT need proof. Indeed, many colleges will discard any extras.

If your volunteer experiences are your main EC, you can highlight them by focusing your essay on them. You also can enclose an extra letter of recc from your supervisor -- if the college allows those kind of extras.
