The final wave is next Friday, so the 26th? Wow, that seems so soon!

Also, does USC only send out mail on Fridays?

The final wave is next Friday, so the 26th? Wow, that seems so soon!

Also, does USC only send out mail on Fridays?

it’d be nice if they sent acceptances on 4/2 as well but i doubt it

@einnob

Check it out “2014/DHL email” CC.
One international student received DHL email on Mar 16!!!

So, hopefully, USC will send another wave even before this Friday!!!

^but I think it might be different for people who get the DHL email, usually they’re international students.

International students received DHL email on 3/11 last week, and most packages for state were on 3/12 stamped.
So USC might sending another wave tomorrow!!

Yes, next Friday will most likely be the last wave, and it includes both fall and spring admits.

Rejections are sent directly after spring admit acceptances are sent. If USC is on track as last year, rejections should come during the very last week of March, so like two weeks from now.

I hope we all get letters next week. For me, it should be Saturday since I live in san Diego.

werty1992…I’m San Diego too, and I haven’t heard. But I am moving along in the process according to my status and records requests. Forwarded, asked for official mid-year grades, parents w-2’s/tax returns etc. Now the only thing left is that big fatty envelope!!

When my mom emailed the tax returns, they told her that they did not need them. They were using the info from the FAFSA this year. I hope that isn’t a bad sign. I’m still on forwarded status.

Copies of 2009 Tax returns, W-2s, and CSS/Profile are required to receive need-based USC grants. Those who only submit the FAFSA will only be awarded Federal aid (Stafford loans, Pell Grant, Federal Work/Study, etc.)

werty1992, are you sure your mother didn’t email the tax returns to SDSU? They would be a university that would only use the FAFSA. Double check.

No, my mom emailed to USC. I’m thinking maybe it is because I will only be eligible for loans due to income???

This is the email:

Hi Ms. …,

Based on the information provided on the FAFSA, we are actually not requesting the tax returns. We have everything we need for _____'s financial aid file at this point.

Thanks,

Financial Aid Office

University of Southern California

I think you are correct, assuming you have a high EFC relative to USC’s cost of attendance. It may be that because you are only eligible for Stafford and Plus loans, they do not require further information.

In watching these boards for the past few years, I have never heard of the financial aid office basing their requests for information on whether or not an applicant has been admitted, so I don’t think you need to worry about that.

Whew! This is from my private college counselor: “any word from USC? Some of my students have heard, both yes and no, but most have not.” I want to find out more about the “nos” and I will get back to everyone.

Wait, so we’re expecting a wave THIS Friday. And then next Friday would be the last acceptance wave? So 2 more acceptance waves…?

elle4luck, the last wave for fall admits is this friday. Next friday is when the spring acceptances go out, as well as some of the denial letters…

I think this friday is our last chance!

After this week the Friday pattern may fade away. If you check this thread http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/642272-stats-only-usc-decisons-2009-a-10.html you will see that there were some Fall admits who were notified as late as March 30th. Don’t give up hope!

When you are all talking about the Friday wave, do you mean receiving big envelopes by Friday, or that they will be postmarked by Friday? Just want to know. I want to accept at my alternate school if I don’t get in and would rather not wait until the end of the month. I guess I am trying to say that I want to turn my focus to the future and not be thinking about the “what if’s” anymore. Anyone know? Postmark vs. received?

I would say postmarked on Friday and received on Saturday-Monday for socal and later in the week for other parts of the country.

Assuming that you are receiving a letter, should your status change soon too?
