Question about tracking application

Hey there, fellow Barnard applicants! I have a quick question, and I figured this would be the best place to ask it. So here’s the deal.

I applied, got the application tracking email from them and all that jazz, and it looks like everything is in order, EXCEPT for my second teacher recommendation. They received one and I know that my other teacher sent hers.

The thing is, I talked to the teacher whose rec they have received last month and she said she had already sent hers out–that was before our winter break, probably around December 18th or so. But Barnard says that they did not receive hers until January 12th.

I do know that my second rec was sent out way closer to the deadline than that, like in late December.

So my question to you is, do you think its just that the admissions staff hasn’t finishing sifting through and processing all of their mail and such, and that’s why it says they haven’t gotten it? I’m crossing my fingers that that’s the reason, since there was about a month delay for the other one. Should I wait it out, or should I contact admissions/my other teacher?

Forgive me for rambling, I’m quite anxious–oldest child, first college applicant… neither my parents nor I are very hip to the whole admissions process.

Thank you for your help!

Heh, I second your ENTIRE question. Hope someone can help us!

thirded....

I'm having a similar problem, but with my SAT scores. I might call tomorrow and if I do, I'll be sure to post whatever they say here.

My advice: don't bombard the admissions office with calls. They started back just this week, so they have not been up to speed until now.

Oh, it is SO comforting to know I'm not the only one, hahah! Thanks girls!

I FOURTH your question.

Ha :P

I think that in the next few days, things will get better because students are back and working at admissions again (probably sifting through all that paperwork). It's really hard to do, but try not to worry!
