Last year, I received a C due to a teacher losing a test and I know that this will hurt my chances at a top school. I was wondering if instead of sending in each marking period's grades, I could just send in the averages of the entire year. Thanks :)

Your school sends the transcript, not you–but most schools only record the final, cumulative grade for each class once the year is over.

Great, thanks!

Hmmm… not so sure about that. The school our dd attended in 6th and 7th included all term grades (but not midterm or quarterly grades). I don’t think they are all that unusual. Still, a single “C” in an otherwise strong transcript is worth explaining.

At our school (and on the sample homeschool transcripts I’ve seen) It’s just the end of year grade on the official transcript unless, of course, the class was a semester or trimester long. Still, it’s definitely worth asking–just request a copy of your transcript from your guidance counselor.
