<p>So I'm applying to UC's, and I'm not quite sure how the whole transcript thing works. I've been told that we don't send in our official transcripts until the UC has admitted us in. </p>
<p>If so, how do they determine our GPA, class rank, etc? Do UC's calculate all that stuff themselves from the grades listed in our common app?</p>
<p>They calc your gpa, etc. based on the grades listed on your application. When you are accepted and decide which school to attend they will ask for your final transcript for both verification of the earlier grades you put down on the appl. and to make sure your classwork didn't slip in your senior year.</p>
