Hi everyone,
When I filled out the transfer application at CSUMentor, I stated that I had taken 90+ semester units. At the time, I didn’t consider the fact that stating so would put me as a Senior, and I heard that cal poly don’t admit a lot of seniors. So should I contact them at request to modify my application to state 60-90 semester units instead so that I would be considered a junior?
Also, I had taken two classes at my local CSU and then transferred them to my Communiy College because those courses were not available at my community college during the semester that I wanted to take them in (And I stated that I had taken those two courses in a CSU in my transfer application). Would that effect my chances of admission, since I also heard that Cal Poly don’t admit students who took classes at a university?
Thanks!
Edit: When I check my app status in the portal, it does state that my Academic Level is Senior
your application need to be accurate and must reflect all your college level course work.
If you feel something you entered is inaccurate, contact the school and let them know ASAP.
I have the same question.
Does “entry status” refer to how much progress you will have made toward completing the degree, or literally to how many college units you have completed, regardless of whether they count toward the degree or not?
By the end of spring 2017, I will have a ton of units from previous colleges, including some upper division for an unrelated major. But I will (if accepted) be starting at Cal Poly at the level of students finishing their Sophomore year, because none of my credit will be upper division for Engineering, and I will probably have a few gaps in the 2nd year courses.
So if the purpose of the entry status question is to weed out students who will not need a full 2+ years to finish, I am unfairly disadvantaged by being put into the Senior transfer category.
Of course we all must list previous colleges attended and units completed, so it’s not like we would be hiding the fact we have lots of units, even if we said we’re entering into the Junior level.
Does anyone know the intent of the entry status question?
