So to be on the safe side, I am pretty much expecting to be denied from Mcgill, yet I really want to go there. Right now, I am almost positive that I will go to my flagship state school, unless Mcgill accepts me.

However, my question is about transferring to Mcgill. I am an American, so I know they take into account the SAT's.
The problem is that I can not find the stats needed to be accepted for transfer. Do I also need to retake the SAT (2100) plus two SAT 2's, or is it a little more lenient? Should I transfer after my first or second year, taking into account my interest in studying abroad...(which would mean only one year at Mcgill if I transferred after second year).

Also, I heard that Mcgill is in a tight money situation, meaning that me, as an American, would pay a lot more....adding to my chances to get in I hope... I am pretty confident about transferring after my first year, but I still can't find the stats needed to transfer....

Thanks.

if your SAT is 2100, then you should have no problem getting into mcgill.

GPA is…shyt

Even though I have A’s in English (minimum), I am applying for engineering, and a got a couple of C’s in AP Chem and AP Physics…too bad for me.

Do you know what school is easier to get into: department of engineering (electrical) or department of Science (Computer Science, physics, Earth Science, <<< whatever that is).

Contrary to econgrad’s advice, here are the grade requirements for engineering, those C’s may hurt:

Engineering (B.Eng.)

Electrical, Computer & Software Engineering
Mining & Materials Engineering
General Engineering

B+ average in last three years; B+ in each prerequisite math and science; SATs/ACT as per minimum requirements

Chemical Engineering
Civil Engineering
Mechanical Engineering Courses: pre-calculus; chemistry and physics

A- average in grades 10, 11 and 12; A- in each prerequisite math and science; each SAT I and II 650 or ACT 29 (subscores 26 or higher)

[Admissions standards for previous years | Undergraduate Admissions - McGill University](http://www.mcgill.ca/undergraduate-admissions/counsellors-advisors/united-states/admissions-standards-previous-years)

so yeah…

can someone answer my original questions…

I think you should transfer as soon as possible. Do well in your home school and transfer after one year. Study abroad is semester based and not year long, I think.
