Question About Transferring Credits

Hello All,

I took a couple summer courses at a community college after high school to get rid of some GEs before I enroll in Cal Poly in the fall. I was wondering if the the grades I receive in the class would transfer along with the credit for the classes.

I received an A+ in one class but a B+ in another class which was theatre.

If i transfer these classes will the B+ be included in my overall gpa?

Is it possible to just never send in the transcript from the community college since i technically took the classes before i started my freshman year of college?

I don’t want to start the year off with a B+ already included in my gpa.

All your grades from The community college will show up on the Cal Poly transcript if you submit your transcript from that community college. You don’t have to submit your community college transcript if you don’t want to. It is just that Cal Poly will never find out. Hopefully what I said is not confusing.

Gee, I didn’t know a B+ was such a bad grade! Those are excellent grades for college, might not be so for some of you just fresh from high school.

Look at it this way. Yes they will count in your overall gpa, but not in your CP gpa. Those 2 GE classes will allow a little freedom down the line to lessen up the load on some quarters. Also think of how much you’ll be saving. I figure each unit at CP cost around $175-200, with those 2 classes being equal to 6-8 units you could potentially save over $1000 easily.
