I will probably be attending University of Maryland-CP next year (my stats: 3.35 UW GPA, 4.0 weighted GPA, 1410/1600 SAT, really bad freshman year with a lot of C's, but really tough courseload.)

Anyway, so far, I've taken a few classes at UMCP and I've gotten A's. If I can mantain a high GPA, would I have a chance of getting into Brown through a transfer? Should I retake the SAT's in the spring to help? Also, should I apply as a transfer as a freshman, or as a sophomore?

Thank you, I don't really know anything about transfer admissions, and await any responses.

As for retaking the SAT's you need to make sure Brown will even accept SAT's taken after highschool, some schools - i.e. NYU will not accept any ACT/SAT scores taken after high school.

Also, you can only transfer as a sophmore, most schools have a credit minimum, usually 28-30 before you can transfer to their school, you really need to look at Brown's requirements.

By retake, I meant to retake while in high school (in the spring.)

Anyway, when I said transfer as a freshman, that meant that I would apply to transfer as a freshman (it'd really be a sophomore transfer, I guess.) The issue with this is that they'd only see one semester of college grades + all the summer classes I took. That might not be enough, but I really don't know.
