Question About Transfers

Hi everyone,
I have quite the predicament on my hands at the moment. I’m a student from NY with a weighted GPA of 3.75 from a competitive public school on Long Island. I am having trouble choosing which college to attend because I know I want to transfer to NYU Stern or possibly UPenn if I work hard enough. I know it’s an uphill battle but I need some help on where to start. I’ve gotten accepted by Bentley and Fordham Gabelli School of Buisness so far. However, NYU - Steinhardt looks to be on target for my grades and I hear back from them and University of Michigan soon. I got a president’s scholarship from Bentley so I’m strongly considering going there for my first year, however, would it be wiser to go to NYU and then do an internal transfer? Would that be easier?
Thanks!

You have to find out about how hard it might be to do an internal transfer once you have admission to NYU and can talk to their admissions office about it. Since your goal is Stern then it all depends on their transfer admission rates.

Once you have all of your options clearly laid out, then make a decision based on what might happen if you are not successful in transferring to Stern. If you choose NYU, will the major you are able to take be satisfying to you? If you go to Bentley or Fordham, are you willing to spend all 4 years there and get your degree from that school?
