I'm currently in a tier three'ish 4 year college and I plan on transferring out to a top tier school (im confident I could get into one.) Can anyone who has made the leap from an easy school to a top school give a brief description about the difference in difficulty. I just currently finished a summer class in columbia in an intro economics course and didnt find it any more difficult. Has any of you lucky transfers seen your GPA's go down in a top school??

I'm at Penn State and i'm also planning on transferring. I dunno- i think the whole idea about ivy curriculums being tougher is BS- At least based on the sample exams that i've gotten from duke, upenn and stanford students. And penn state is ranked like no. 50? so i doubt that you, coming from an already prestigious school, will have a tough time after transferring.

Im not in a prestigious school- its like tier three. Middle 50 percent SAT's are like 980-1100; its a public school so... Im just takign summer classes

eserrur, would it hurt to mention the school's name, geese. People like you make things frustrating.

You probably haven't heard of it- Hunter College of the City University of New York

My professor at the University of Pittsburgh went there. He then went on to graduate school at MIT. Go figure.
