Question about UC application

If you write ECs on the UC application, how will they confirm that?

Oh, I mean, when you write your Extra Curricular on the application, how does the UC admission confirm that?

It's the honor system.

But don't lie, things like that have a way of catching up with you down the line.

they don't really verify ECs...so you can lie your ass off...well they probably will verify if you put something outlandish as you work part-time as a supreme court justice or something...I dunno.

Though working part time as a Supreme Court Justice would look pretty nice on an app. :)

I heard the UCs do random checks to ensure quality control. Not sure if this is just a rumor but hey its worth being honest anyway...

lol supreme court justice...

No UC will admitt they don't check... When u ask them, they say we do it randomly. WIll we ever know the truth about it? Proly not

look just think about it logically....they cannot check ECs for EVERYONE unless it's really really suspicious. if you put in normal stuff like volunteered at soup kitchen, taught kids at school etc. etc. they will not check.

This is why ECs are only worth so much, while grades are certainly the big dog!

UCSD had (maybe still has) a policy where they check some percentage of their applicants at random, but last I heard they were reporting that there weren't any problems so it's unlikely they'll step it up.

Thanks a lot, guys!
