Question about UC Prompt #1

<p>Prompt #1 (freshman applicants)</p>

<p>Describe the world you come from — for example, your family, community or school — and tell us how your world has shaped your dreams and aspirations.</p>

<p>I'm a bit confused as to what they are looking for here. Do they want to me to write about a specific example of something that changed me, or do they want me to talk about something broader? It just seems a bit abstract to write about, for example, how my parents have always encouraged me and on and on.</p>

<p>“[Just write an insightful anecdote about something you love to do and have done for most of your life]” is basically what the UC prompts are asking.</p>
