ok so it costs $110....I don't think I want to go. Seems like the only useful thing is that you would be able to talk to counselors...but couldn't you do that regardless you go to Orientation or not? I mean you can make appointment with counselors outside orientation right? or should I go?

You get to register for your classes with your counselor if you go... instead of doing it yourself. So I guess thats a plus.

but I also read that the Degree Progress Check is useful for L&S major and that the engineering department has their own thing....I dont' want to spend 110 bucks for just that. I mean I can still make an appointment personally with an engineering counselor...right?

you should go..youll meet some new people and plus itll be memorable!

i will meet new people anyway....freakin UCLA and its money making scam...100 bucks for talkin to counselors and food? ***....I thought these types of things were supposed to be free

$110 is a lot less than what the Freshmen pay for thiers... granted thiers is 3 days long haha. They also have scavenger hunts and stuff so... yeah.. we're just there to register for classes haha. I think they give you a little Bruin welcome package too... not too sure.

i dont understand why theres a fee..i mean freshmen stay overnight so yah i get that they shud pay..but us? were just there for a day and i dont think food costs 100 bucks and advising students shud be free too lol

that being said..i still plan to go tho!

frankly I would rather spend the 100 bucks on clothes or towards a new MP3 player...I emailed an electrical engineering counselor asking about this and counseling, and would rather just set up an appointment with him...I don't really care for the food or the extra "fun" things...

paperclipz, what's your major?

psychology
