Question about UCLA

I am an out of state applicant from the east Coast. UCLA is my second choice and I will be paying full tuition.
Is UCLA need blind, or do they want students who pay full out of state tuition?

“Is UCLA need blind”

?

meaning your financial aid need is not a factor in your admission
the admissions officers don’t see your need when they read your app and cannot use that to make their decision

I am not certain but those paying full out of state tuition could possibly have a slight edge due to the California budget problems. I don’t think “need” usually is a factor in whether or not someone is accepted but it might make a bit of a difference now.

^^^ RageKage’s sarcasm doesn’t travel well via cc threads

^^…um, no.

UC will always be need blind, and have higher acceptance rates from in-state residents (since we are still a state university system).

:(

How many people do you think they will accept out of state this year?
