Question about UCSB TAG and my eligibility for it.

So on the UCSB TAG page it notes that there must be a 30 unit minimum met when submitting the application, and only 10.7 of those units may come from AP credit. That’s fine with me, but I was wondering if the same 10.7 AP credit cap also applies when meeting the 60 unit minimum.

Here’s how my unit load and plan looks like right now.

Fall 2018- UCB Student 14 units

Winter Intercession 2019 CCC- 4 units

Spring 2019 CCC- 15 units

Fall 2019- 6 units

Spring 2020- 6 units

I have 26.7 AP credits, so I was hoping after spring 2019 I could enroll half time in order to commit more time to a job to save up for school.

All the AP units count to get to the 60.

Where are you applying? Keep in mind CCC units will cap at 70 ( if you go over, no problem) but the 14 UC will be added to whatever final count you have.

Example:
CCC: 62
UC: 14
Total: 76 (then add in AP)

Example:
CCC: 75 (rounded to 70)
UC: 14
Total: 84 (then add in AP)

UCLA has a ceiling of 86.5 units.
Davis, Riverside, Merced have a ceiling of 80.
The rest have a ceiling of 90.

If you go over those numbers you are likely not to be admitted. (The second at 84 is over the count for 3 UCs)

(AP is not counted in the ceilings, just your CCC and UC.)

Based on your totals, you’ll be transferring 71.7 as of now, but only 45 count toward the ceiling caps, so you’re fine on all counts.

I’m only applying to UCSB. If I don’t get accepted then I will apply for readmission at Cal.
