Question about upenn.

hello fellow penn students!

I was admitted to SEAS of upenn as a transfer student.

at my school, ucla, transfers are frowned upon slightly,
due to high acceptance rates.

I was wondering if upenn has the same "you are transfer eww"
feeling to transfers and if people frown upon SEAS people.

nah don't worry

you're one of us now

I actually think Penn has really low transfer acceptance rates. No one will say ew!

I actually like listening to the perspective of transfer students. There will be no ews.

Penn's recent transfer acceptance rate of 14% is actually LOWER, not higher, than the overall freshman acceptance rate of 16%. So on that basis, no one views transfers as "inferior."

Hi, I am also a transfer student. I'm going to be a junior History and Spanish major in CAS.

So to kind of take over this thread, I have a few questions related to transfers:

(1) When do we get our emails? For facebook, obviously.
(2) For people who have done it in the past, what is transfer orientation like?
(3) It seems like transfers don't live together or in a central location as in other schools. Is there a good sense of community amongst the transfers? CAS specifically.
(4) Also, in what way (if any) is the transfer experience different for a junior than for a sophomore?

can someone please answer this?
