i got rejected from USC but at the bottom of my rejection letter it states:

" After reviewing your application, we determined that you are among a special group of students whose eventual enrollment at USC is of great interest to us." and then it states that " our aim is counsel you subsequent to your high school and help you establish a personalized transfer plan. Such a plan may assist you in gaining admissions to USC as a transfer within the next two or three semesters"

my question is did every rejected applicant receive this and if not... is this a good sign for us in the near future if we decide to transfer?

I don’t think this is standard, but I know a couple people who mentioned it on their letters. They also said that it gave them a contact. If your letter had someone to contact, I’d bet he/she would be able to explain everything to you. :)

I didn’t get rejected but I can tell you that this sounds like a good sign. It doesnt seem like something that they would say to every rejected applicant. Keep you head up! You’ll end up somewhere great and it sounds like usc may be in your future.

I thought this meant that you were rejected, but you were a legacy so they had to let you in somehow and were happy to get you to eventually transfer?

this thread appeared three times…people says it just means that because ur a legacy, so usc is willing to give u some special help on transffering during sophomore or junior year. You are still rejected and need to attend other school first though.
