My D spring break begins March 28 and we planned on doing some college visits. I notice that Tulane has no classes on this date (Monday) due to Easter Monday. Does this also mean no tours, and will students still be mostly on campus? We wanted to begin or end in New Orleans, and beginning there would be more convenient for us. We don’t really want to wait until Tuesday if we want to get to all the schools on our list, but this is an option nonetheless. I’m guessing that Sunday/Monday is not going to be a good time, but wanted to see what others thought.
Visiting any school when the students are not on campus and in class is very different from visiting when all is in session. There are no classes on Easter Monday at Tulane so the kids will be returning that day from their weeklong break. Visiting any other day that week would be significantly better. I’m not sure if the admissions office is open to run tours that Monday, you can check with them directly. Good luck with your campus visits.
The University is closed on Good Friday, but it appears it will be open on Easter Monday. There are no classes however. I would contact the Admissions Office to see if they will be offering tours that day. We toured in the summer and there were no classes but it was still worthwhile
I agree that Monday isn’t ideal, but there will be a lot of students around to talk to. As long as they are running tours (and I don’t know if they are but if they are officially open the answer is probably yes) then that Monday should be OK. Obviously the biggest negative is that she wouldn’t be able to sit in on a class.
OK, thanks. I’m going to give them a call next week. We may reschedule things anyway, just to be safe. Or do a self tour, and come back a little later.
