Question about volunteer hours, etc...

I'm only a junior right now, but I plan on applying to UC (University of CA) next year. I've been volunteering for good amount now, however my school does not provide and volunteer confirmation form. I've also heard that UC colleges don't require volunteer hour proofs for college applications. I looked up some UC colleges' emails and sent them asking a question, but it's been 3 days without a reply. Since it's the weekend, the couselors are gone so I thought I'd ask the question here.

I don't understand what I need to do with my volunteering hours. Do I need to make a proof form on my own get a confirmation from the place where I volunteered? If so, what will I need to put down on the form? Or do those colleges give you a place to write them down?

I don’t think you need to worry about the hour proofs. Daughter’s high school doesn’t require community service and doesn’t keep track those hours either. So she never bother to get any hour proofs, she doesn’t even have an accurate count of the hours. I don’t think any college will require a proof along with the application.

However, in case you’re randomly audited, (I heard UC verify some % of applicant’s ECs), a letter or contact from the place you volunteer could be enough.
