<p>I think so. I know for UCSD's "equation" 200 hours of community service gives you a certain amount of points. So they must calculate it and find the total number of hours you've volunteered. (at least at UCSD)
I did Davis' "equation" a while ago, but I believe it gave out a certain amount of points for total hours of community service as well.</p>
