Hello,
I just joined CC, and I have a couple questions about the whole volunteering/ ec thing. I have been regularly volunteering out at my church services for around the last 2 years. I usually help run the lights/ computers/ sound. I help out almost every service. In the past, I have helped out at the local food shelter a couple times. Also, I volunteered at the local special olympics this year. If I am able to fit it into my schedule, I will lead a small group this year at my church. I spend most of my time training for swimming and studying for school, so I do not have much time to volunteer between full time swimming and school. I hope to swim in college someday. During the summer, I lifeguard to save for college. I do not have any official hour records for my volunteering.

Will the fact that I do not have official hour records hurt? Do most colleges ask how many hours you have volunteered? If colleges ask about hours, what should I do? Do colleges understand if you do not have as many volunteer jobs/ hours if you are heavily committed to a sport that requires a lot of time and energy?
