Question about Waitlist. Please help.

<p>So I have been waitlisted at UVA but still really want to attend the university. I was also accepted to my other schools and was going to commit to them by paying the deposit before May 1st. However, if I choose to "accept or decline your wait list spot" by May 15th does that mean I am committed to attending UVA if I am accepted? I am asking simply out of curiosity as UVA is definitely my first choice.</p>

<p>Can someone please tell me whether I will be committing myself if I accept the wait list offer or will it simply notify UVA that I am still very interested?</p>

<p>You are only indicating that you are interested in staying on the waitlist. It is not binding. If you get accepted off the waitlist, you would have a short period of time to decide whether or not to take the spot. You will still have to commit to another school by the end of the month, and accepting an offer of admission from the waitlist at UVA would mean that you would most likely lose your deposit at the other school.</p>
