Question About Writing Score!!!!!!!

Wow, that's weird. I just checked my score and it says 800 with an 80/9. I don't know why yours is a 780..maybe it's just an error? :

Yeah lerm 89 i got a MC:80 Essay:9 and I got a score of 800...i don't know why you don't have the same score.

what??????? ahhh.. what should I do then????
can I petition college board or something?

how did u guys see what u got on the MC already?

btw i know how u feel lerm89... i was so hoping those werent my real scores. i dont understand my CR. I thought it was so easy, and got a 700. I especially dont understand my writing score. 640? I studied my butt off, consistently did the best on W, but only improved by like 10 points from last time?

I got 61 MC, so about how many questions did i get wrong, considering that i didn't omit any of the questions? I usually get at the most 5 quesions wrong on the writing section. I dont understand what happend to my score..

61 MC is about 12 wrong... 5 to 12 sounds like a really unexpected outcome

and yeah, I feel like the curves for all the sections on the October test were really harsh :

wait how did u all find out how many u got wrong

Well, it says your raw score out of 80 on the Scores page...
it doesn't say how many you got wrong
I know that I got 0 wrong because I got an 80/80
I estimated the 61 = 12 wrong by the blue book chart

i cant see my scores page....

which blue book chart?
the blue book i have has writing raw scores starting from 49.
Is this the old version ?? i'm confused.

the score out of 80 is the scaled score
49 is how many questions there actually are
so if he got 12 wrong that would result in a (49-12-12/4) 34 "raw" score, which according to the chart gives a 58-68 scaled score.. which is around 61

thanks, i got it.
another question:
I was rushing towards the end of the test. so I might have skipped a bubble and ended up coloring in wrong spots for some of the last questions. If i really did so, would the collegeboard take this into consideration, and maybe rescore my grade? probably not, right? :(

no, rescore only works if your bubbles weren't filled in correctly, not if the answers were shifted :

ok i got a 63. How many wrong would that be?

More about the odd writing curve:

My scaled writing score was 70. With an 11 essay, I got 730.

Another poster had a scaled writing score of 71. With an 11 essay, they got 720.

I should be the one with the 720. Not that I'm complaining...but how on earth does that work?

there seems to be many problems with teh writing scores. Geez CB!

there were different essays...i got an 80/9 and an 800, and i had the essay about the identity...if you had a different one, your score may have been scaled differently

I had the identity essay also.... and I got 80/9 = 780
