I'm sure a lot of you were awarded money from NYU and congrats to all of you who did. I got $19k in my package (about $16 in scolarships) for freshman year so i'm pumped. My question is was anyone awarded aid for all four years, or is it year by year. Is NYU likely to keep giving me similar packages (I'll keep my grades up) or do I run the risk of having to pay full tuition for the remaining years?

thats what i was wondering.. in my letter it kind of hinted i would have to reapply for my CAS scholarship in March 2006? help?

I got full tuition in grants and work-study, and i researched it. From the indications of the aid site, it seems that ALL grants are conditional upon the maintainment of a 2.0 gpa. However, I will call monday to make sure it is fouryears, as my deciasion to which school to attend rests on aid for four years. Congrats all!

yeah, you have to reapply for FAFSA every year, but my guess is NYU will probably give you about the same package every year if your financial status doesnt change and your grades are good.

dfebrer, please post on this thread after you call NYU. thanks!!

my money is merit.. i have no fin aid for need from NYU... anyone know about that? (sorry forgot to mention that).

yeah, the majority of mine is merit too, if I keep my grades up can I expect a similar amount every year?

how long do you have to live in NY to establish residency and be eligible for state grants? I'm from PA, so sadly no grants transfer

IHeartNY27, your question is moot. Going to college somewhere does not equate residency at all..PERIOD.....if that were true, every out of stater at state colleges would eventually be paying in-state tuition.
