Question: Admission

Does a regular, hard-working student have a chance at MIT? I'm a freshman in high school this year and it seemed to me that people who're admitted to MIT have a really HIGH IQ level....

All you need is good scores good ECs and a bit of luck. You can’t base it on how hardworking you are because thousands of other kids are Hard working too

Norw: If you consider yourself an MIT aspirant, may I say that typical applicants possess superior analytical and critical thinking skills and can research topics and problem solve easily? You have a question before you: what does it take to get into MIT.

And you seem to be totally stopped. Bad sign…

you don’t need a really high IQ level to get into MIT at all. just do the best at school and with your ECs. MIT accepts applicants on the same criteria that every college does, it just happens to be much more selective.

there are two things that worry me about your question though

 1. you’re a freshmen, this is way to soon to be worrying about this
 2. do not define success as acceptance into MIT

Please repost on the MIT forum.
