Question-admissions

Would it be bad to put undeicded as your major? as in lowering your chances?

Also, I would like to know my chances to get into U of I.

3.75 gpa

rank top 8 percent

act: 28

tons of EC(take my word for it)

as stated above plan on applying undecided and sending in my app. on the 15th of Sept or earlier.

what are my chances?

not sure about undecided but ur stats are fine for las, borderline engy tho in the essay u may have to explain why ur undecided

Undecided means you apply to Arts & Sciences college, General Curriculum. Being undecided is not any real disadvantage; usually close to 45% to 50% of those admitted to A&S (and about 30% of all admissions) are undecided, which reflects that about that percent apply as undecided. Your stats put you in middle 50% for A&S giving you a good chance of admission.

Well im planning on submitting my application on the 15th.....Theres still some worrys that I wont get into the LAS.....Wish me luck!

Good luck, but you won't need it. 28 ACT is the average for engineering (even though that was a few years ago I think), and LAS is easier to get into. top 8% is great, and the tons of EC are good eye candy on the app. I'd bet my money that you're in. ;)

You fit in exactly what a UIUC student is.
Rank-Top 10%
GPA-above a 3.5
and an ACT score in the top 20s or early thirties (28/29/30/31)

You'll get in.

yea you're guaranteed for anything but business and the harder engineering ones.

thanks guys for the feedback....U of I has always been one of my top schools. Another reason is I want to attend the CFC church because of their involvment with churches around the chicago area.
