I have a middle name, so when they ask for a middle name do i have to put it down or is it optional

What happens if u accidentally “lie” on your commonapp. like say my mom went to college but she went in Peru, south America and so i like i might put that her highest degree is high school instead of Bachelors to give myself an advantage

1) Put it down. Otherwise they may not be able to match all your records to your application.

2) Don't do it. First, it doesn't give you enough of an advantage to make a difference. Second, if you're found out you can be rejected, rescinded, expelled or have your degree revoked (depening on when they find out). Lying about even a little thing is a big thing by itself and enough to get you into major trouble.

You can do either, as long as it is consistent: if you choose to write it, then write it EVERYWHERE. If you choose not to, don't put your middle name on any college paper work.

Don't lie. I'm not going to say lying is never worth it, but it really isn't in this case.

Umm what do u mean by on all my college paper work like i kno on my high school transcript they have, and on my SAT's i choose not to put it so wat are the other paperwork

I would put whatever you have on your HS transcript. My S has two middle names and uses only one. Just be very consistent on all of your application information--again, follow whatever is on your HS transcript as it would be the most important--but use that in the future.
