Question bout nomination

I was wondering, if I should contact my state Senator to "support" my quest for a nomaniton? I didnt know if that was dumb and not worth the effort?

do you mean your state senator that represents you in congress or for your state?

My son wrote a letter to our representatives in the State Assembly and the State Senate (as opposed to the US House of Representatives and US Senate) explaining his quest for a nomination and asking for their support.

Each kindly sent a letter to the US Congressional Representative for our District and both US Senators. They sent my son a copy of their letters of support.

Sounds like some good advice---certainly can't hurt!

Would be best if you offered to go meet them in their District offices - introduce yourself, bring a resume, explain to them why you want to serve your country, why you think you have the credentials for West Point - that way they will have a much better understanding of who you are - and they'll be able to say in their letter that they met you , etc. Otherwise the Congressman and U.S. Senator (and their committees) will know it's just a perfunctory constituent letter.

Excellent advice.
