Question bout Pre-Med @ UPENN

So, from what I’ve read, UPENN seems to have a very competitive and straining Pre-Med program. How much of this is true?

any pre-med people willing to answer?

thanks

Really? I am interested in pre-med at PENN, too. Anyone who knows, or is currently at PENN, can you tell us if the pre-med program is rigorous, and if it helps a lot of students get into medical school? As in, 80-90 percent get into medical school, possibly? Thanks.

I can't tell you if the premed program is rigurous because, well, there is no pre-med program per se. To be premed you jsut need to satisfy premed requirements. Those requirements include math, chem, physics, and bio, and this subjects can be classified as hard. About the rate, try looking at Penn's website, career services. There is a statistic there which I'm too lazy to look for right now. It was something in the 80s I think.

a majority of premeds here are bioengineering, biomedical sciences, chem and biomolecular, biochem, biology majors. Biomedical science is very similar to bioengineering, but has more electives. Again there's no premed major at Penn. What I know is that premeds here are very hardworking.
