<p>My teacher has been absent for an extended period of time because of a sickness. He plans to becoming back after teh break, and I know that he has left his recommendations at school. Are the recommendations due January 1st? Or do you think itd be ok if they were liek postmarkd on the 2nd or 3rd?</p>

<p>Yikes. You should probably e-mail him at home and voice your concerns. It's not good to have your teacher recommendations postmarked late....I think they are considered as "late." Good luck.</p>
<p>I heard adcoms are most lenient with teacher recs coming in late cuz its not really the student's fault.</p>
<p>Don't worry about recs... they'll go easy on you if they aren't in on time (since they aren't your fault). They won't start meetings until March I believe, so a little lateness won't kill your chances.</p>
<p>No harm in letting admissions know about your situation. They won't blame you.</p>
