I'm going to be a Senior next year, and am interested in some majors in both schools.

I know about the 'Combined Plan' Programm..but I was wondering whether it would be possible for me to switch between the two after applying if I like the other more?

Uhhh I’m not sure. Transferring between the colleges after getting accepted is pretty competitive though. I know people that have transferred, but then you’re competing against all the transfers from other schools as well.

you may transfer between the two, but it involves submitting a transfer application. the uni has an interest in maintaining a ratio between the two schools relatively constant, and thus your ability to transfer often is limited by how many students go each way - more students tend to want to transfer from SEAS to CC, thus you’d be at a comparative advantage if you wish to transfer from CC to SEAS. it is not impossible to transfer between SEAS to CC, but often requires a more compelling reason than i don’t like engineering classes.

No I meant before you get accepted?

Maybe after you submit your application in Oct/Jan?

oh yeah, so long as you do so hopefully in advance of decisions being released, is cool. applicants do it all the time.

Oh cool. I didn’t know that.

@ admissionsgeek: How do you do that? Do you just email the regional officer?

or usually just email the main columbia email ugrad-ask@columbia.edu.
