So there are two colleges i would still like to apply to if i can make the deadline. The deadline for both is Feb 1st. If i were to send my SAT scores today it says preticted time of arrival 1-2 weeks. Do colleges mind if they show up a few days late as long as they were sent before the deadline? Will they still be counted?

Need help, please.

Thanks a lot to anyone who can provide an answer!

I'm pretty sure that as long as you send them before the deadline- the colleges will understand if they arrive a few days late. After all, the length of time that collegeboard takes to send your scores isn't something that you're responsible for.

Also, if you're really worried, you can rush your scores- you have to pay twice as much I think, but it might be worth it.

don't rush your scores. just send them. as long as you took the SATs well before the deadline and report your scores on your common app, you're fine. they just use the score report for verification purposes.

someone just told me some schools do not accept rushed scores but i am hoping that i kind of misunderstand them.. bc i just sent two rushed to get them there before Feb 1.

all i mean is ok i rushed them... but even the schools that dont accept rush... that does not mean they will not accpet the scores but rather they will just get them at regular time right? My scores will still reach the schools.. correct?

please sorry i just need a simple answer to calm me down.

Don't rush your scores. It's just another way for CollegeBoard to make money off of you.

And yes, some schools do not accept rush scores. I think that University of Michigan is an example of one. However, I don't really know the policy of whether these schools reject rush scores and receive them at the regular time--you should call your schools to find out for sure.

hi, I'm in a very similar(pretty much exact same) situation that you are, I just sent my SAT scores today the regular method.

I also contacted the admissions center and even though the site said it closes at 5 I called at 4:35 and got an answering machine. I left a message though.

The way I see it, when I get back my message tomorrow I'll know for sure what they are doing, if they need them by the deadline then I can rush the scores and it will still be in by Feb. 1, if what I just did(sending them the regular way) was fine, then yeah.

Rushed scores arrive at the admissions office via snail mail. Regular scores arrive at the admissions office electronically. Most schools strongly prefer electronic scores to alleviate their paper deluge but rushed scores will eventually end up in your file so don't worry.
