Question concerning those deferred...

My school only sends the transcript as the mid-year report and I was differed from early admission. I ended up with straight A's the final first semester and I'm wondering what are my chances from the differed (does getting straight A's significantly improve your chances?) Or are you just thrown in with the regular decisions?

Is there anything else i can do to improve my chances?

Senior 1st semester course load:
AP Literature
AP Statistics
AP Physics
AP Economics
Journalism II (Our school is ranked first in the nation with newspaper)
Senior Advisory (Required for class president)
Drawing/Design (Required art credit)

A large portion of those deferred are people that the adcoms want to see 1st semester senior year grades from before making a decision. So, getting straight As is certainly a major plus. However, there are still other reasons you may have been deferred, so straight As do not necessarily translate to acceptance.

How did you get straight As when you can't spell "deferred" correctly? You wrote "differed" twice . . . Not a good sign.

oops my mistake, i wrote that around 2 AM last night, people make mistakes when their tired :)

^ that wuz a joke, right?

TommyLee, if you look at the SCEA accepts this year, Stanford has
not focused on GPA (normally SATs do not matter much). I doubt anyone
was deffered due to grades. Most likely they would have been rejected.

The fact that you are deffered means Stanford likes you for whatever
reason. There must be something else in your background that does not
fit exactly with the criteria they may have used for SCEA.

Since Stanford does not like extra material of any kind, you will not be able to address this?. ...So keep your fingers crossed ....
